March 17, 2010
Come out and party with Helena Handbasket this Saturday night, March 20th, in Downer, MN at the Mainline Bar and Grill. The bar will host a 'Beach Party' show in honor of the first day of spring. There's no cover and there will be door prizes given out all night. It's a quick and easy 20 mile travel to the Mainline, so grab a bunch of friends and a sober driver and head on out!

Helena Handbasket has also added a show back at their unofficial home base, The Silver Dollar in Elizabeth, MN. That show will take place on Saturday, April 17th from 9:30pm-1:30am. Come on out and have your face melted off...

Another Show...

January 15, 2010
Helena Handbasket has added a show in March at the famous Mainline Bar and Grill in Downer, Minnesota. The band will play there on Saturday, March 20th from 9:00-1:00. The show has been themed as a 'Beach Party' in commemoration of the first official day of spring which happens to be the very day of the show. There will be no cover for the show, but donations will be gladly accepted. And, of course, this show is 21 and over.

We hope to add some more shows for the rest of the winter into the spring, a few of them local in Fargo-Moorhead. Keep checking back for more information as it comes in...

Another Year...

December 30, 2009
It was a fun year for the cats in Helena Handbasket. The band's personnel are a pretty busy bunch with their daytime jobs and other gigs all over the area, so the fact that they played as much as they did this past year was a big bonus in their musical lives.

There have been big changes throughout the year to note- first of all, regular trumpet player Tanya Beseler is expecting her first child this coming spring. Being pregnant and playing trumpet don't mix too well, though (according to the doctor, but what does he know?) We've been lucky to have some good players jump right in and work with us, though. We thank James Landman of Fargo and Tim Knabe of Grand Forks for coming right in and taking over the job. Also, Eddie Schwind and his wife had their second child this past summer which certainly added much more activity in the Schwind household.

We look forward to playing a lot more this coming year- keep checking back with us and we hope to see you soon starting with the New Year's Eve Show at the Silver Dollar Salloon in Elizabeth, Minnesota!

Keeping Busy...

April 13, 2009
The members of Helena Handbasket continue to keep busy as time rolls on. Several of the members are working on seperate projects while continuing to play with Helena Handbasket. The band hasn't done a lot of work over the past year or so with everyone busy, but everyone is still excited to play whenever they can with HH.

All of the members are still doing various Patents Pending shows. Christopher is busy with the Jazz Arts Group and the Fat Daddy's Band out of Wahpeton/Breckenridge. Russ is still a member of the Green Room. Eddie is still running sound for various groups and organizations and he and his wife are expecting their second child in August. Tanya is still teaching privately. Jessy is completing his student teaching and preparing for a senior recital in anticipation of his upcoming graduation from NDSU. Mike keeps awfully busy with his work at Nooridian/BCBS and hunts and fishes whenever he can.

The band hopes to work towards doing at least a show per month if possible. Keep your eyes open...

After Much Anticipation...

November 20, 2008
After much anticipation, Helena Handbasket made it's return to playing full shows with a performance at the Silver Dollar in Elizabeth, Minnesota. The bar is truly one of the best kept secrets in west central Minnesota! The town claims a population of 187, but there were at least twice as many people at the Silver Dollar that night! Anyhow, Helena Handbasket made it's reintroduction to the scene a big one as the crowd danced and partied all night to the rockin' sounds of ska, punk, and rock.

This marked the start of Helena Handbasket as it transitions from Patents Pending into it's new identity. Work has begun to promote the new group in the Fargo-Moorhead area, and you can expect to see and hear Helena Handbasket at a venue near you soon...

The Demo is Complete...

January 16, 2008
The demo CD has finally been completed and will be distributed around the FM area in the very near future. Jeff Mooridian functioned as the head engineer during the recording process. Four songs were mastered and put to bed on the 16th, while one more song is still in the works. Check the media page to hear clips of the new Helena Handbasket.

Helena Handbasket to Play New Year's Show...

November 15, 2007
Catch a sneak peak of Helena Handbasket as they perform at the American Legion directly after the new year of 2008 has begun. Patents Pending will play from 9:30pm up until the clock strikes midnight, and then will transform into Helena Handbasket symbolizing a new wind of change!
